Me: Gap dress via Thredup {kind of similar}. Leggings from Old Navy...currently my favorite. Shoes, old, from Zulily. I know you can't really tell but they are so cute and comfy {similar}
Amelia: Dress Old Navy via JBF sale...another steal, I think it was $5 {similar style}. Boots Children's Place via TJMaxx.

It was just the three of us at Mass this week. Both boys had been assigned the Saturday Vigil Mass however, Asher's baseball team was playing in a Blue Santa Charity Tournament and he had a game during Mass so him and Cameron couldn't make it. I was very glad we went to Mass Saturday because Sunday was so busy. We woke up early and I took Aiden to a bowling tournament while Cam and Ash went back up to the fields for baseball.

After bowling we met up for lunch and headed back to the fields for more baseball. The team ended up winning first place after a long day!

And if that wasn't enough excitement, Asher ended up pitching a perfect game, which if you are a baseball fan you know that's a big deal! He was so excited and we were so proud of him. No more baseball now until the Spring but don't is right around the corner πŸ˜‰

{seven qts} life's dilemmas

1. I have now had laryngitis for 2 weeks. To say that I'm over it would be the understatement of the century. At this point I have completely forgotten what my real voice sounds like and have almost given up hope on ever talking normal again. slightly dramatic eh?  In all seriousness if you have any advice on how to help my situation it would be greatly appreciated. I've been to the doctor, been on steroids and at this point I really don't want to go back just to be exposed to all other fun illnesses out there this time of year. And seriously...yelling at kids is no fun when every other word cuts out πŸ˜‰

2. This is beyond ridiculous but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to put up my Christmas tree. I'm trying to hold off as long as I can but every store I go in has all their decorations up and it's so hard. Plus I really want a new tree, which is also ridiculous, but I'm trying to use all my will power not to buy a new tree. I have my eye on one at Michael's. It's beautiful...tall, green, full and flocked. It's a dream tree. Cameron is so over me talking about it he just wants me to buy it but is it crazy? Just another non important detail of my life I am fussing over at this moment. To buy a tree or not buy a tree????

3. As I sat down to plan our next coming months this morning, I am shocked at how quickly our weekends filled up and even more shocked how quickly our ski trip will be here. Every.single.week. I put on my to do list "pull out ski gear and make a list of what we need" and every.single.week. I fail to do said chore. I'm not sure if I'm just a glutton for punishment and want that feeling right at the end where I am rushing around trying to get everything done but something has got to give. I just keep imagining our magical snow is and how much fun we are going to have and let that guide me that it will all work out.

4. The kid's school pictures came home this week and they are adorable.

However I quickly realized that after spending a small fortune on pictures I did not get Asher's. So after sitting on the phone with the picture company for about 30 minutes we realized that I filled out the online form wrong. I mean really people?! I'm on a roll lately πŸ˜‰ So they refunded me what I spent and I had to reorder them.

5. Cameron is in his busy season at work and we are seeing him less and less at home in the evenings. This is the first year that it's actually going pretty well and I chalk that up to all the kids being older. For the most part, our evenings are not too hectic unless we get home late from an activity and the boys can now see when I am feeling stressed and rushed and instead of feeding into that, they are helping me out more. Big kids are the πŸ‘Š

6. Thieves oil is saving our lives I'm pretty sure. Every morning I rub it along the kids spines before they go to school and so far they have all been well. I also send a Thieves oil hand sanitizer in their lunch bags and encourage them to use it before lunch. Anything to help keep away the germs at this point.

7. Last Friday, Amelia had her 5 year well check

35lbs (10%)
34" (60%)

All was well on that front. I can't believe my little lady is 5! Seems so crazy how fast time goes. Next year she will be in kinder and gone all the time. Not quite sure what I will do with myself...

Happy Weekend!

tuesday tales

Good morning Tuesday...well almost afternoon.

Good afternoon Tuesday

This week is Red Ribbon Week at the kids school and in all honestly I am not completely on board with this week. For our family it's all about introducing illegal drug use to my 6th grader who honestly has no idea about that. Yesterday he freaked out when he saw that Walgreens is a drug store. Not sure if this is our fault as parents for completely dropping the ball but I am a little bit over society forcing our children to grow up. Nonetheless to promote not using drugs everyday is a theme day where the kids get to dress up. I seriously cannot understand how all this goes together but again...maybe it's just me.

Anywayyyyyyy today was Nerd Day so pretty much Aiden dressed up as himself and brother combined.

Cameron and I thought this was quite hilarious and even more hilarious is that neither of the boys realized it πŸ˜‰

After dropping off the kids I went to get my car washed and then tried out our local grocery store's curbside service. Annnnd I think I likey. Yesterday I ordered the things I need, selected a time slot and then today pulled up and voila, my groceries came out. It was then that I decided to come home, plan my Thanksgiving menu, make that grocery list and go ahead and order the groceries for pickup the week of Thanksgiving. Just in case the time slots go fast I want to be prepared.

Speaking of Thanksgiving...I really really REALLY want to put up my Christmas tree before. It's taking everything I have not to put it up right now. Yesterday to tame my desires I decorated the mantle for Fall.

I'm not going to lie...I still want to put up the tree.

"To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often."

Non affiliate links because I'm not that fancy yet

Me: Dress Old Navy. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago so it's still available
Shoes I picked up on clearance from Gap outlet. Here's similar
Amelia: I picked up her dress at the JBF sale for $4!
And the boys are both wearing what they wear almost every Sunday. Asher's pants are the best slacks we've ever had. You can find them here

Oh how I love this time change. We all woke up refreshed, had plenty of time to get to church, no one complained or was tired at church and then we all went to bed early. This is my favorite ever time of year. A good family friend is in town from California so while Cameron went in to the office for a couple of hours (it's his busy time of year at work) the kids and I headed over to my parents to visit. It was nice and after lunch we came home to catch up on a few things (like laundry) and then watch the Cowboys play.
So much going on with only 2 weeks until the kids are out for Thanksgiving Break AND I so graciously volunteered to host Thanksgiving at our house this year. Now if it would only get cooler so it actually felt like fall...

halloween 2017

I love Halloween. I just think all of it is so much fun and look forward to celebrating it with my kids every year.
This year we started the day off with a parade at Amelia's preschool. She chose to be Fancy Nancy just for school and man did she look adorable.

Honestly the old me would have DIED at the fact that she didn't want to wear her real costume. I know that sounds insanely insane but let's just be real...I was a wee bit insanely insane at one time πŸ˜‰ Now I just don't care. I realize how unimportant details can be and as long as our kids are happy then I'm happy.

I  mean seriously how cute is she!

After all that fun I headed straight to the doctor because I have been so sick for about a week with cold stuff. Ugh...I feel awful. The doctor told me what ever mom loves to hear "It's just a virus" and I was off to grab some medicine that isn't helping. Woe is me.

After resting some, I was off to pick up the kids. And then it started to pour down rain. When I picked up the boys they were so sad but I assured them that maybe just maybe it wouldn't be raining when we went trick or treating.

And you know wasn't.

Big baby, Moana and a Pokemon Trainer.

We met up with my sister, brother in law and niece and off we went to get some candy.

Our neighborhood doesn't hand out candy so we always go downtown. All the houses are decorated on Main Street and it feels like we are in a movie. We love it.

The Big baby was quite a hit. I had to get my picture with our town celebrity πŸ˜‚

Hope everyone had a very fun and spooky Halloween!

And cheers to the weekend!!!!

"Don't spend your energies on things that generate worry, anxiety and anguish. Only one thing is necessary: Lift up your spirit, and love God."
St. Padre Pio

I've been gone the past 2 weeks because well...we didn't go to Mass. I am not someone that can go to Mass when I am feeling bad. I just can't. I know some of you go no matter what and I'm sure your path to heaven will be quicker then mine and maybe once my kids are older that will change but for now if Momma is down we are all down.

Now to the clothes
Me: Gap dress from Thredup {kind of similar}. I recently sent 2 huge bags of clothes to Thredup and had a really nice credit on my account, so I stocked up cold weather dresses for Mass.
Leggings Old Navy because it wasn't quite cold enough for tights.
Cardigan Old Navy I grabbed on clearance over the summer.
Shoes from Zulily. They are amazingly comfortable and have a manageable heel.

Amelia's dress is Gymboree {similar style}from last winter and Shoes are Children's Place. They are adorable! Gray velvet boots with a ribbon tie. I wish I would have gotten a closer pic

Asher's top is Old Navy...also grabbed on clearance over the summer.
Pants Gap. These are the best skinny slacks we have ever found.

Aiden's top is Ralph Lauren via Goodwill. I have a great secret Goodwill in a fancy part of Austin we hit up every now and then. They stuff is practically new and all name brand.
Pants old Navy and Jacket Nike via Goodwill

As for Mass is was very pleasant. We are finally at an age that my kids almost always act well. It makes everything so much easier. The mom in front of us was really struggling with her littles and I prayed for her and mentally tried to send her messages that it's all worth it πŸ˜‰

We went to the early Mass which we almost never do anymore because we had an exciting afternoon of baseball ahead of us. Asher and his team {with Daddy as the coach} had their championship baseball game in the afternoon. So we headed home, changed and ate lunch and headed to the baseball fields. The game was amazing. Our boys played their hearts out.

And won 15-0! Finally...a first place trophy!

I know it might sound silly to some but we are a HUGE sports family and this win brought tears to my eyes. I know how hard Cameron has worked as a coach and how hard Asher has worked as a player and this was so overdue. They really deserved it and I'm so glad they finally got the big WIN!

{seven qts} it's me again...minus 2 teeth

1. 2 weeks ago my kids had a week long fall break at their school. It was heavenly other then the fact that I had 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled. The procedure was not as bad as I had imagined it would be but the recovery was a lot longer. I couldn't eat real food for an entire week! And everything had to be room temperature...yum. So that explains my lack of blogging. I am all recovered and feeling back to normal.
During Fall break we went to our favorite pumpkin patch Sweet Berry Farms.

2. Two days after getting my teeth out, I was somewhat good enough to get out of bed and dressed. Asher had baseball stuff so since Cam was busy with that, I took Aiden and Milly to a Pokemon Fest in Austin that Aiden has been looking forward to for months.

It was weird...really weird and as I walked around drinking my juice I prayed that Aiden would not end of like some of the adults there. The kids had a blast and thought it was amazing so even though I was not feeling the best it was worth it.

3. Last week Milly and I met some friends to see the My Little Pony movie. She was so excited she dressed herself.

The movie was weird but the girls loved it and I enjoyed chatting with my friend so it was all good.

4. Last weekend we were the super cool parents and surprised the boys with tickets to go see Justin Timberlake in concert. They knew we were going but we hadn't told them that we were taking them as well. They were ecstatic! The concert was at the Circuit of America's race track so on our way out to the field we stopped to get a picture.

It was the best night. We all had a blast and enjoyed the concert.

If you ever have a chance to go to a JT concert go. Beautiful voice, so entertaining...lots of fun.

5. Kids had picture day and all looked SOOOO cute!

I can't believe how big they all are.

6. We had our annual Halloween party again this year and as always it was lot of fun for the kids.

We had a relay race with lots of fun and hilarious games for the kids.

Add in yummy treats and you've got yourself a party. Till next year...

7. And finally Milly had her Halloween Dance at her dance class. All the moms came in to watch their little darlings dance and what did mine do...stand and stare at me with her tongue out. Silly strange child of mine.

At least she looked cute doing it.
