christmas card time!

This year we got really lucky with our Christmas picture! We were suppose to have them done by a really great local photographer but I had set the appointment without checking with Cameron and he had an out of town work event. By the time we figured out the scheduling mess up (literally 2 weekends before) she was already booked for the rest of the year. Big bummer! So instead I just set up our camera and got a picture of us myself.

And you know what...

It was perfect!

It only took 1 take which is a Christmas miracle for this family! Ha!

And then I got one of the kids which I LOVE!!!!!!!

They look so precious. I'm so glad they are mine 😊

Picking our clothes was a little hard this year. I wanted to use different colors then we have used in the past and I didn't want them to be the traditional Christmas colors. I found Milly's dress at Old Navy and loved it. I decided I would work around it for the family. Plus I love a black bow in her golden hair 😊 Asher is REALLY picky about his clothes so when I chose something for him I wanted it to be something he would actually wear. His shirt and Aiden's were also from Old Navy. My sweater was something I had previously purchased on sale from Evy's Tree. Cam's shirt was from Rome so no link for that 😉

As every year, I order my cards from Shutterfly. I just LOVE their cards!

I just love Christmas cards. I love love love receiving them and every day in December the kids and are so excited to get the mail to see what card we have so far. This year I wanted to make a beautiful and fun card display.

My little helper

So far we haven't received too many cards 😉 The non picture cards we get I will put in the card tool box.

This display was super easy to make. I already had the vintage tool box and bought some sparkly sticker letters from Michael's and just put them on. I love how cute it is! I also already had these white sprigs and they add a nice wintery feeling to the space. As for the frame I've been wanting to make one of these for the stairs to hang little 8x8 pictures on. So after Christmas that is where this beauty will be going.

The frame I bought at Michael's for 50% off.

The wire mesh and wire cutters I ordered from Amazon
We already had the staple gun but this is pretty much all you need!

Then take the back and glass off the frame and stretch out the wire and start stapling. I found it was easier to staple the wire on and then cut around to make it the correct size.

This project was so super easy and now we have a fun display for our cards!

Christmas is quickly approaching! We are going to enjoy these last few weeks watching Christmas movies, continuing our Advent traditions, making a visit to see Santa, possibly ice skating (if I can convince Cam 😉), going to see Christmas lights, baking lots of yummy treats, preparing our home to host Christmas and most importantly spending time together as a family. This is truly my favorite time of year 😊🎄
