14 years

Then

Now

Wednesday, August 10th we celebrated 14 years. 14 years of marriage is a long time. The good thing is...it hasn't felt that long :) At church last week during the homily, the priest talked about marriage and how the one thing a successful marriage needs is forgiveness. I'm sure anyone who has been or is married will agree that is true. It's mostly forgiving the little things. The everyday things that your spouse does that gets under your skin. It's forgiving yourself of these annoyances. Forgiveness is an amazing power.
The one thing that has surprised me most in our marriage is the more I love him every year. If you would have told that young 22 year old that 14 years later you would love your new husband more then on the day you married him I probably would have laughed. Every year our love grows and becomes more real. For that I am thankful :)

"Blessed are you, O God of our ancestors, and blessed is your name in all generations forever, Let the heavens and the whole creation bless you forever. You made Adam, and for him you made his wife Eve as a helper and support. From the two of them the human race has sprung. You said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone; let us make a helper for him like himself. I now am taking this kinswoman of mine, not because of lust, but with sincerity. Grant that he and I may find mercy and that we may grow old together.' And they both said "Amen, Amen."
Tobit 8:5-9

Happy Anniversary my love. I look forward to many many more years together :)
